About the Opportunity
Silverwinds School is looking for a full-time K-3 Primary School Teacher based in Sperling, MB, with the option to start as early as January 2025, or later.
This role focuses on delivering early years education to a low-enrollment, multi-age classroom, with a strong emphasis on English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and early childhood educational best practices. The position reports to the School Principal and is responsible for fostering a supportive learning environment that aligns with the Manitoba curriculum, Christian values, and Hutterite culture.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teaching and preparing lessons for a K-3 classroom
- Applying effective classroom management and early years educational psychology
- Designing and conducting assessments in line with Manitoba Education standards
- Building strong relationships with students, parents, and the community
- Participating in professional development and adapting to school needs
- Contributing to extracurricular activities, such as drama, music, and fine arts, where applicable
About You
To qualify, you will need a valid Manitoba Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate (or equivalent from another province) and familiarity with early years (EY) English literacy and numeracy best practices, as well as provincial curricula. A strong grasp of EY educational psychology and classroom management strategies is essential.
Additionally, the following skills and experience are highly valued:
- Experience teaching in low-enrollment, multi-age classrooms
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn about and respect the Christian faith in a Hutterite context
- Background in German language instruction, drama, fine arts, or choral singing/music
